Hollywood actor Keanu Reeves confides that he’s a closet cricket fan.

The star of blockbuster films Speed and The Matrix has been based in Britain for seven months working on a new project.

He tells Colin Paterson on BBC Radio 5 live that during that time he’s caught cricket fever.

“I just like the way it quietly builds until that one event,” Reeves tells 5 live Breakfast.

The star says he’s also been watching the Ashes. “What was that bowler’s name? Was it Tremont? Tremlett? When he got those two wickets… that was nice!”

Keanu is currently in London to work on 47 Ronin, which is a kind of Western set in the 1700s with Samurai.

This evening my brother informed me that he saw Keanu on BBC1 TV and they asked him to explain why he looks 26 when he is 46 and he answered “it’s my genetic heritage”.

Keanu hopes to continue producing, he still has the production company and they are developing scripts and trying to raise money and get them made.

KEANU Reeves has admitted to being too nice at times.

The Matrix star plays Henry in his latest film Henry’s Crime, who is described as “the nicest guy”, which he found easy to relate to.

“He sometimes didn’t know how to say no, and I might have been guilty of that – there’s lots of examples in my youth. Sometimes you go along and you don’t fight for yourself,” he said.

“When I work on a role, there’s the script and there’s me. They kind of come together and they create a different entity,” he added.

“Earlier this week I got to speak to Hollywood legend, Keanu Reeves about his new movie, Henry’s Crime which is released in the UK tomorrow, 14th January and co-stars James Caan and Vera Farmiga. In the interview I asked him about how the project came about and how he found working on the screenplay as well as acting within it. I also asked him about distribution in the US & mainland Europe which seems to be sorted and it should be moving Stateside in April and over to Europe in the coming months.

Towards the end of the interview I was running low on time and I know hundreds of you had sent in questions for me to ask Mr Reeves. Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to ask most of them but I did get updates on where we are with all the projects at the moment including 47 Ronin, Ode to Happiness & Bill & Ted 3.

Reeves is currently in London preparing for his new role in 47 Ronin which he mentions in this interview too.”

A few years back, Keanu Reeves announced his intentions to make a new martial arts movie starring Chen Hu. Although we’ve heard little since, it now looks like the project is going ahead with Reeves himself stumping up the cash. Currently entitled ‘Tai Chi Tiger’ (ugh!), shooting is set to get underway this April.

Very little is known about the plot at present, although it seems that Hu will be playing some sort of kung fu master. When it was originally announced, Reeves also said there was a possiblity he may appear in the film but he would prefer to portray the villain rather than a hero.
