Friday night at The Troubadour featured long-time local favorites Earlimart and UK indie pop/rock group The Wedding Present. And, unexpectedly, Keanu Reeves, sitting up in the VIP session, rocking out to the latter. Earlimart went on right at 9 o’clock, with bright, hypnotic images projected on the wall behind them, which included forests, fields, and underwater sequences.

Finding his morning coffee fix, Keanu Reeves steps out for a beverage run during a visit to New York City on Wednesday. Next up for the actor? The remake of the sci-fi flick, The Day the Earth Stood Still, which opens in conventional and Imax theaters in December.
Keanu Reeves looked none too pleased with photogs on Wednesday.
The actor was strolling the streets of New York with an unidentified female (where’s China Chow?) while trying to avoid the intrusive flashbulbs.
The Speed star would probably have made a better getaway if he stuck to his vast assortment of wheels instead of hoofing it.
Keanu may have not wanted to stop and chat, but at least he graced the press with a shower-fresh look. The actor’s gawkers aren’t always so lucky.
A plethora of stars will settle on earth with the little people for a one-night-only event at the ArcLight theater in Hollywood on Oct. 1 during “Target Presents AFI Night at the Movies.” A-list celebs such as Dustin Hoffman, Cameron Diaz, Denzel Washington, Annette Bening, Jim Carrey, Shirley MacLaine, Rita Moreno and Keanu Reeves, will participate in the American Film Institute event. The idea is to bring filmmakers and fans together to celebrate American movies, said AFI chief Bob Gazzale. “It is a fireworks show of American film,” he said, “and AFI’s honor to celebrate the artists and their contributions to the rich cultural legacy of our nation.”
The complete list of stars and films include:
Sean Connery, “The Man Who Would Be King”
Annette Bening, “American Beauty”
Jim Carrey, “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”
Cameron Diaz, “There’s Something About Mary”
Jodie Foster, “The Silence of the Lambs”
Dustin Hoffman, “Tootsie”
Shirley MacLaine, “The Apartment”
Steve Martin, “The Jerk”
Rita Moreno, “West Side Story”
Michael Myers, “Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery”
Keanu Reeves, “The Matrix”
Denzel Washington, “Glory”
Annette Bening, “American Beauty”
Jim Carrey, “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”
Cameron Diaz, “There’s Something About Mary”
Jodie Foster, “The Silence of the Lambs”
Dustin Hoffman, “Tootsie”
Shirley MacLaine, “The Apartment”
Steve Martin, “The Jerk”
Rita Moreno, “West Side Story”
Michael Myers, “Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery”

The one-night-only event is set to take over the ArcLight theater in Hollywood on Oct. 1, the American Film Institute announced Wednesday. The idea is to bring filmmakers and fans together to celebrate American movies, said AFI chief Bob Gazzale.
"It is a fireworks show of American film," he said, "and AFI’s honor to celebrate the artists and their contributions to the rich cultural legacy of our nation."
Tickets are $25 and will be available beginning Sept. 17.
… The organization behind it says all of the money will go directly to funding cancer research programs.
Research advocates and about 100 stars from music, sports, TV and film took part in Friday’s live event. They included Jack Black, Jennifer Aniston, Halle Berry and Keanu Reeves. Sitcom star Brad Garrett underwent an on-the-air prostate exam…

Actor Patrick Swayze made his first public appearance since being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer earlier this year on the Stand Up 2 Cancer telethon Friday night.
The Ghost star received a standing ovation the moment he stepped foot on Hollywood’s Kodak Theatre stage.
He gave a speech in which he said, “I keep dreaming of a future, a future with a long and healthy life, a life not lived in the shadow of cancer, but in the light. I dream that everyone diagnosed will be fortunate enough to have hope, that every human being lost to cancer isn’t gone, but is standing here with us tonight. I see a future where all scientists come together with a unified agenda, and share their research and their brilliance. We can do anything, but the longer we do nothing, more people will die. Together, we can the make a world where cancer no longer means living with fear, without hope or worse. Tonight I stand here, another individual living with cancer, who asks that we not wait any longer and I ask only one thing of you: please stand up with me.”
Swayze, along with fellow thespians Keanu Reeves, Kirsten Dunst, and Salma Hayek and musician Melissa Etheridge (who is a cancer survivor herself), took part in the telethon, answering phones and taking donations throughout the night.
Actors Sidney Poitier, Jodie Foster and Christina Ricci opened the hour-long cancer awareness special in a pre-recorded segment, ending the segment with a statement saying one American had died from the disease during its 30-second message.

Dear Club Keanu Fans,
Please be informed that CK has been down for several days and Chicks opened a temporary website for you, here is the link:
Here is the message from Chicks there:
Club Keanu has been down for the last two days due to some major hardware problem. And since the part is on backorder and I have no contact with my host, God only knows when it will be up and running. So I threw together a temp site, that will mainly focus on photos (see gallery to the left. Will add more too. And this homepage IF there’s any breaking news. Now that I have taken the time to do this, maybe I will be surpirsed and find the REAL site up and running soon.. We can hope anyway
PS, Please don’t email me about the site being down. I appreciate the concern, but my inbox gets bogged down and I don’t have the time to reply to all.

UPDATE: Source: http://backseatcuddler.com/2008/09/02/keanu-reeves-parties-at-the-ivy-like-its-his-birthday/
Keanu Reeves‘ birthday is today…he’s 44. But last night he was at the Ivy partying like it was his birthday. Keanu looks better than he used to. Even in this picture of him! I still think he’s a great actor and I can think about five movies that I liked that he was in. Rock on Keanu…rock on!

September 1st, 2008: We caught up with Keanu Reeves Monday night. He just finished having dinner at the Ivy. When he saw us he was all tight-lipped and attempted to be evasive. Someone should tell Keanu to avoid the Ivy if he wants to go low-pro.
