August 25th, 2008. EXCLUSIVE Los Angeles, CA. After seeing Hamlet 2 at the Arclight, Keanu Reeves wasn’t the most chatty person on Earth. He played off this whole bad-boy stoic, helmet guy thing on his way to his motorcycle.

Keanu does have a little goof up trying to start his bike, but hey, it’s what makes him look human in our eyes and just another silent guy on the street that no one gives a sh*t about… Kinda.

Keanu Reeves has lunch at the Orso restaurant in Beverly Hills on Tuesday August 13th.

The Speed star is currently working on The Private Lives of Pippa Lee. It is a drama film written and directed by Rebecca Miller based on her own forthcoming novel. It stars Robin Wright Penn as the title character and Keanu plays Chris, Pippa’s lover.

After her much older husband forces a move to a suburban retirement community, Pippa Lee engages in a period of reflection and finds herself heading toward a quiet nervous breakdown.

 

 

Apparently unconcerned with the prospects of inconveniencing his lunching companions at Orso, The Day The Earth Stood Still star Keanu Reeves took a phone call when the waiter was about to take everyone’s order. Reeves told his friend on the other line that he was free to talk and talked for a couple of minutes in a fairly calm voice. One of his tablemates rolled their eyes as Reeves carried on his conversation, then whispered to the rest of the table, "I don’t really mind him talking. I just wish it was something interesting, you know? So, I could have something to send into a cool blog or TMZ. You know, I want to be the cool person on the internet for a change." At which point one of the other leaned across the table, grabbed their hands and whispered, "One day, you will. Just not today. Now, could you please pass the olive oil?"

London fashion maven Trinny Woodall keeps her arms wrapped around actor pal Keanu Reeves during a friendly motorcycle ride in Los Angeles on Friday. The pair was seen exploring the scenic route of Mulholland Highway in Hollywood Hills.
The 44-year-old mother of one is seven months older than the Speed star. She and husband Johnny Eliachoff’s marriage is reportedly on the rocks.
“Trinny met Keanu through a friend (British artist Amanda Eliasch) in London and they really clicked,” a source tells The Daily Mail. “She asked Amanda to throw a welcome dinner for her and the plan was for Keanu to come along to the party last weekend, but he didn’t show. Trinny was really disappointed because she was hoping they could catch up.”

No stranger to sci-fi – Keanu Reeves is all alien in the upcoming remake of the famed Cold War film The Day The Earth Stood Still.

He told AP Television, at the recent Comic-Con gathering in San Diego that he felt pressure to perform up to the level of the 1951 original.

"Scott Derrickson, the director, had a real point of view of what he wanted to do and a reason why he wanted to adapt that film at that time and do it now," Reeves said.

His co-star Jennifer Connelly agrees:

"Yeah, and I think that it was such a great idea, I think, this film, the original film, the 1951 version, and it was such a great idea I think, because it sort of combined…it’s a sci-fi film and it’s beautiful design and it’s suspenseful and it’s exciting," she explained.

Keanu plays the role that Michael Rennie had in the original, while Jennifer takes the role portrayed by Patricia Neal.

And the actress really likes that it’s a movie with a message.

"It was such a great framework to discuss those kinds of issues at that time. And it’s 57 years later, and there are different things to discuss. But the format seems really apt, really sort of fitting," she said.

The new version is big on special effects, but Keanu says they don’t overwhelm the drama.

"I would consider it more of a drama with a little bit of spectacle in the storytelling, but as opposed to the spectacle of just blowing something up, this is really driven by story, in the best possible way. So there’s a little bit of stuff in there for the kids, but there’s also something to think about and the relationships are real."

An as with most remakes, fans have been worrying on blogs about what the movie will do with the famed evil robot Gort.

But Reeves says not to fret.

"It’s such an iconoclastic representation of what a robot is. And Scott Derrickson just really conceptually took it from that place and changed a couple of things, and kept some things the same. And then Gort has a new wrinkle from the original that I hope people will enjoy."

The new version of The Day The Earth Stood Still is due in cinemas around the world this December.

Keanu Reeves grabs lunch with actor pal Orlando Jones in Beverly Hills on Wednesday.

After lunch, the pair checked out a script together. Keanu, 43, and Orlando, 40, were costars in the 2000 sports comedy The Replacements. Maybe they’re going to reunite for a new movie??

Keanu also recently got his wish–his deposition will stay private in the lawsuit in which he is accused of hitting a photographer with his Porsche, according to court documents obtained by Access Hollywood.

Producer Erwin Stoff reveals that he is developing a live-action adaptation of the iconic anime for Fox

We caught up with producer-extraordinaire Erwin Stoff at the NBC TCAs where he was promoting his upcoming updated-David-and-Goliath-based show KINGS. When asked about other projects he is currently working on, Stoff, let slip some very juicy news about a very beloved anime franchise.

“I’m developing COWBOY BEBOP for Fox, but doing it as a live-action film, so I’m working on that at the moment,” Stoff tells iF. “I’m really excited to be working on it, and it’s in the really early stages. We just signed it the other day.”

“I have such an enormous admiration for its creators, that our first and foremost concern is going to be a real degree of faithfulness to the tone of the movie, to the mix of genres, and so on and so forth,” he says. “When I met with them in Japan, one of the first things that I brought up was the experience that we had on A SCANNER DARKLY, and how hard we worked to remain faithful to Philip K. Dick, and that was our big concern here.” …

Keanu Reeves and his beautiful costar Jennifer Connelly promote their new sci-fi film, The Day the Earth Stood Still, at the Comic-Con 2008 convention on Thursday in San Diego, Calif.

The Day the Earth Stood Still is a remake of the 1951 film of the same name. According to Wiki, the film updates Cold War themes like nuclear warfare to more contemporary ones, such as “humans vs. nature” and humanity’s generally violent nature toward itself.

Keanu, 43, plays alien messenger Klaatu. Connelly, 37, plays Helen Benson, a microbiologist inducted by the government into investigating Klaatu. The movie opens in theaters nationwide on December 12th.

The agency has asked Chef Martial (who owns a famous cooking school in Paris) to come to the Riviera and offer the party a savoury adventure on the Provence markets and later cook their own lunch. However, the actor didnt wake up on time and failed to take the trip down the markets. Apparently, "Speed" star Keanu Reeves won’t be stretching any part of his body anytime in the future. Responding to the recent speculation on him being the elastic superhero in the Wachowski brothers’ "Plastic Man", the 43-year-old didn’t need a long time to put off the flaming rumor.
When asked by MTV about the truth of the speculation at the 2008 San Diego Comic Con, the co-star of Sandra Bullock in "The Lake House" revealed, "[it's] not true for me." Adding further, he stated, "It might be true for other people but I haven’t heard anything about it." Though nixing his involvement, Reeves noted that he is keen on working with the Wachowskis once again.

‘Matrix’ Star Keanu Reeves to Be ‘Plastic Man’

 

The action star known for his portrayal of Neo in ‘The Matrix’ trilogy is said to be considered for the Plastic Man role in the Wachowski brothers’ latest film project.

He made himself noticed by starring as the daring Officer Jack Traven in "Speed". He established himself as a blockbuster action star with "The Matrix" series. Now, Keanu Reeves is said to be entering the league of superhero with words speculating that he maybe involved with the latest feature film project of the Wachowski brothers, "Plastic Man".

According to CHUD, the 43-year-old has been considered to star as the stretchable superhero whose real name is Eels O’Brien. Allegedly, the story was let out by filmmaker Joel Silver when discussing about "Ninja Assassin" on a German radio. On whether or not the story contains any truth, there are no word yet from either the Wachowskis or Reeves.
"Plastic Man" is a superhero character from DC Comics. Having been born normally like any other human being, Eels O’Brien gets his superpower after he was exposed to a drum of unidentified acid. Following that, he could stretch out and shape any parts of his body the way he wants. On the movie project, it is said that this character is planned to be making its theatrical debut in 2009.
