Keanu is back in LA

Keanu Reeves and his beard -Friday, September 28th, 2007

A heavily bearded Keanu Reeves picks up his Porsche from a local service shop in Los Angeles on Thursday.
The actor has one film coming out next year called The Night Watchman, which he filmed in June and July.
Keanu, 43, plays Tom Ludlow, a Los Angeles cop who has spent his life never having had to reach across the abyss from his world to the other. Ludlow’s life, however, becomes cheerless, dark, and deadly, after the death of his beloved wife. Ludlow is pressed into action when he is framed for murder by those close to him. Deeper and more profound themes are interwoven in this story of a man’s struggle for meaning in a world that is increasingly controlled by outside forces.
The crime thriller also stars Hugh Laurie, Chris Evans, Forest Whitaker, Naomie Harris, Jay Mohr and rapper Common.

It always seemed strange to us that Scott Derickson’s remake of The Day The Earth Stood Still would be able to make it into cinemas in time for May 9, 2008. What with, y’know, not even shooting yet. A film all about a UFO and killer robot is inevitably going to need lengthy post-production and seven months just wasn’t enough time to get the movie done properly. So, the film has moved its release, in America at least, to December 12, 2008.

The Day The Earth Stood Still sees Keanu Reeves as an alien who comes to Earth in peace, but is greeted as something that should be blasted back to whence it came. So his robot companion, Gort, threatens to open several cans of whoopass on the world. Robert Wise’s 1951 original is considered one of the best sci-fi movies ever made. This is correct.

Whoa.
I just met Keanu Reeves  ……   And Keanu Reeves happened to be sitting at the table right next to us. For the longest time, we couldn’t figure out if it was him or not, because his voice didn’t sound right. But that didn’t stop me from looking, because it looked exactly like him– the eyes, the mussed-up hair, the beard… he was very cute. ;) So that he wouldn’t catch me staring like an idiot, I pretended to be interested in the painting that hung above his table. (Granted, it was a nice painting, but you know.) My gaze drifted down at some point, and he happened to look at me at the same time. So our eyes met (yay, *silliness*). Oh, and when he asked the waiter what kind of sake had been brought, the waiter said, "Neo-sake." I almost spit out my drink, but Keanu seemed to be unfazed……

Alex Winter, aka Bill S. Preston, Esq.

It’s been over a decade since he and Keanu Reeves braved the time-space continuum as half-baked slackers in the cult comedy "Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure" (1989) and its sequel, "Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey" (1991).
In that time, their characters’ mantra — "party on, dude!" — has become enshrined in the pop culture lexicon. And Winter, now 37, has never stopped being recognized by rabid fans as his movie alter ego, Bill. "To this day, no matter where I am in the world, it happens every day," he says.
Well, except once, on an autumn evening a few years ago, when he and Reeves met for a quiet dinner in New York City. Neither had paid much attention to the date, so when they walked out of the restaurant into a crowd of costumed people thronging the streets of lower Manhattan, they were thunderstruck. "We were like, ‘Oh, s–t! It’s Bill and Ted in the middle of the Halloween parade,’" remembers Winter, with a grin.
He and Reeves — whom Winter still calls one of his closest friends — waited for their cover to be blown. But then: "Nobody batted an eyelash. We just looked like two fat, older guys who were trying to be Bill and Ted," laughs Winter.

As an actor Alex spent many years on Broadway with supporting roles in productions of THE KING & I, PETER PAN, and the American premiere of Simon Gray’s CLOSE OF PLAY at the Manhattan Theater Club. After completing NYU film school, he went on to have starring roles in several feature films, including Orion’s huge hit BILL AND TED’S EXCELLENT ADVENTURE and its sequel BILL AND TED’S BOGUS JOURNEY, the cult smash THE LOST BOYS and Percy Adlon’s ROSALIE GOES SHOPPING.

As a writer and director, Alex co-created and starred in the hit MTV series, THE IDIOT BOX, and the Twentieth Century Fox release FREAKED. Acclaimed by many critics including The New York Times and Entertainment Weekly who heralded Freaked on their "Top Ten greatest comedies of the Nineties." The film also stars Randy Quaid, Keanu Reeves, Brooke Shields, Bobcat Goldthwait as a human sock puppet and Mr. T as the Bearded Lady. Long an underground favorite, Freaked was released on DVD this year.

Subsequently, Alex wrote and directed FEVER, released by Lions Gate Films. FEVER is a psychological thriller starring Henry Thomas, Teri Hatcher, Bill Duke and THE DEPARTED’S David O’ Hara. The film has been invited to film festivals worldwide, including Official Selection in the Director’s Fortnight at Cannes. In The New York Times, A.O. Scott praised the film as "Pure Hitchcockian panic. An arresting example of what a talented filmmaker can do with the sparest of means."

Alex works between his American home base and London, where he has been very successful directing music videos and commercials. Highlights of his work include directing several installments of the popular Peugeot Thelma & Louise campaign, as well as campaigns for Ford, the global launch of the all CGI Tony the Tiger for Frosties, and award-winning spots for Supercuts and McDonalds in the US. Music videos include Red Hot Chili Peppers, Helmet, Bootsy Collins and Ice Cube.
Alex recently guest starred on the hit Fox series BONES. Currently, he is directing the live action BEN 10 MOVIE for Cartoon Network.

Keanu Reeves made his way to Universal Studios in LA yesterday with his lunch in hand. He’s been keeping a pretty low profile in public these days, but is clearly hard at work. Right now he’s doing The Night Watchman, and he’s just signed on to do a remake of The Day The Earth Stood Still, where he will play an alien. We like him better in the sci-fi genre than in the romantic comedies, so hopefully we’ll have another Matrix coming our way.

August was a busy month for Supertouch blogger TIM BISKUP. After starting off in Vegas with none other than road dog, KEANU REEVES for UFC 74 to watch Randy Couture take down Gabriel Gonzaga, it was time to take in the annual horror that is the Magic clothing industry tradeshow. After a little (read: LOT) gambling, it was off to Ireland to catch the incredible ELECTRIC PICNIC music festival where our boy was a featured speaker at the onsite “SWEETNESS AND LIGHT” art expo. Featuring over 150 bands spread over three days (you read that right) including LCD Soundsystem, Bjork, Modest Mouse, Hot Chip, Manic Street Preachers, Chemical Bros, Beastie Boys, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Erasure, Deerhoof, Jarvis Cocker, Ladytron, Nouvelle Vague, MIA, Bonde Do Role, Ratatat, Primal Scream, Sonic Youth, UNKLE, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Horace Andy, Mixmaster Mike, and The Stooges, Electric Picnic is Ireland’s hottest summer festival, and also the only one where VIP guests sleep in tents behind the stage.

We are lucky this month, we have 2 Keanu movies on Belgian TV, finally !  We generally have Keanu on TV once a year and, each time, it’s Matrix Reloaded.  TG they finally decided to choose other movies this time.  Let’s hope we will have Keanu more and more on TV here.

Larry Wachowski has officially completed his full sex change, Larry is now Lana Wachowski. Say goodbye to referring to the writer-director duo as the Wachowski Brothers; I imagine from here on out, the PC thing to do will be to call them The Wachowskis, or Lana and Andy Wachowski.
Interestingly enough, Lana will speak to the press about this — which is rare for the Wachowskis since they’re not ones to speak to the press about anything, let alone something this personal in nature. However, rumor has it that she will not openly speak about the sex change until after Speed Racer hits theaters on May 9. On top of that, sources say that Andy Wachowski will do all the press for the film as well for fear that the whole sex change thing could potentially harm the family-friendly film.

Keanu in Chicago

1-Sep-2007 – Written by: Danielle Devine

When I saw Keanu walking around in downtown Chicago I told him that I saw him just yesterday on TV and he was wearing the same shirt. He said, "I was?" He could tell I was embarrassed that I blurted that out. He was friendlier in person than people probably assume him to be.

Virgo: We invite trouble when we strive too hard to avoid it. Allow for the possibility that magic may happen.

Thought for the Day: Saturn’s long sojourn in Leo since July 2005 comes to an end today. Virgos, it’s time to reenforce your security and stability. For Leos, enjoy a vacation.

If today is your birthday: This year you will find inspiring ways to look at life start to emerge. Colour and vibrancy will be injected into every aspect of life. Happy birthday to Keanu Reeves, 43.

Happy Birthday Saskia

Hey fans, are you ready to celebrate Keanu’s Birthday tomorrow ?
I am ready and I will be on MSN on Sunday to chat with you.

Do you remember what wonderful day we had when we celebrated Keanu’s 40th Birthday on MSN ?  We stopped chatting at 3 am (European time) the next day and most of us were, ehem …, a little bit drunk LOL.  We all had a great time and we had fans of the whole world in our MSN conversation, sweet memories *** sigh ***.
I hope that Keanu won’t spend his Birthday in Paris, alone, this time and will have a great time with his family and friends.
